KCR to announce Special Budget for Agriculture Sector

Hyderabad, July 2: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken major decision to strengthen agriculture sector here on Saturday.

KCR announced that He has decided to introduce a separate budget for agriculture by creating an independent financial body from the next financial year.

The agriculture budget is likely to be around Rs 20,000 crore to Rs 25,000 crore. In the financial year 2017-18, the government earmarked Rs 6,000 crore for agriculture.

The agriculture budget will also include Rs 4000 per acre incentive announced for recently for the farmers.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials of the Agriculture Department to prepare modalities for the implementation of the incentive scheme.

It is also decided to constitute an expert committee involving noted agricultural scientists from across the country to address the farming issues in the state.
