Singareni workers called off their Strike

Godavarikhani June 25: We all knew that The Singareni employees from all the state have been doing the protest about the Dependent jobs. The strike has completed 10 days, here, coal mine workers strike was temporarily called off on Saturday.

Five national trade unions AITUC, INTUC, HMS, CITU and BMS on Saturday made an announcement by temporarily postponing the strike and decided to continue the agitation till the revival of dependent employment scheme in Singareni Collieries Company Limited.



Talking to media at Godavarikhani, trade unions leaders said that they have decided to postpone the strike since the Deputy Labour Commissioner had sent 'Failure Report' to Central Labour Department from where it would be referred to Industrial Tribunal.

The representative of SCCL said they did not get Advocate General's opinion on the court’s decision against the revival of dependent employment scheme when DLC raised questions in the talks held between management and Trade unions on Friday in Hyderabad. Reacting to the reply, DLC asked as to what SCCL has been doing all these two months period.
