NewDelhi, June 12: A shocking news for NIT students. The NIT Council has given in Principle approval for changes in the curriculum of syllabus taught to students. The council has organized a meeting recently to discuss the recommendations of the V K Saraswat committee.
The committee was appointed by the central government to suggest changes to the NIT curricula. Main recommendations made by the panel are
* The curriculum of NIT students must include lessons about PM Modi government's initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Skill India, Make in India.
* Undergraduate students who study IT (or) electronics should be taught about the engineering component involved in the Digital India initiative.
* Civil Engineering students must be aware of the schemes such as Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation, (AMRUT).
* New course titled 'Sustainable Engineering' must be introduced in all the branches of NIT.
Finally, officers feel that students get more opportunities if they learn the above lessons.
