Extreme step by Telangana Govt

Hyderabad June 11: As we all knew that, Telangana electricity has separated, from this perspective there is a more burden on the Telangana Govt, so In order to overcome the electricity problems, The State government has decided to install LED bulbs to save the power consumption and lessen the burden of bills by the consumers as well as gram panchayats.

The Panchayath Raj and Rural Development Department had already finalized 25 villages for the implementation of LED bulbs program.

From this perspective, the Telangana Cheif Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and department officials are conducting a preliminary meeting with the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and village sarpanches to assess the prevailing electricity situation like number of polls, power bills per month, electricity coverage, the number of street lights and cable strength, Panchayath Raj Deputy Commissioner S Rama Rao said to the media.

He said nine villages in Rangareddy, Eight villages in Medchal and another eight villages in Sangareddy district are shortlisted for the LED bulb program.

"It is a good move as the gram panchayats are burdened with the mounting power bills every month, we hope installation of LED lights will reduce the total power consumption," Said Kothur village sarpanch G Jagan.

The Department officials said that as many as 100 villages came forward to avail the bulbs scheme but we are confined to only 25 villages first on the pilot project later we will extend the facility to other villages.

For the selected 25 villages the government will distribute LED bulbs free of cost to all households and later for all villages in the State.
