KCR to distribute Sarees

Hyderabad, June 10: The Telangana State Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is planning to distribute 86 Lakh sarees to women who are having white Ration Cards during Bathukamma Festival.
After announcing number of welfare schemes such as distribution of sheep, fish, 12 percent reservation for Muslims, two-bedroom houses and 1,000 pensions to single women, to name a few, KCR government in the state is all set to launch another initiative that would not only give work to the starving weavers but help woo a large number of women.
CM is planning to distribute sarees to women below poverty line i.e., white ration card holders during Bathukamma festival that is celebrated officially on a grand scale in the state.
The order for weaving the saris would be given to power loom and handloom weavers in Telangana, particularly those in Sircilla.
For Ramazan and Christmas, the government distributed free clothing to Muslims and Christians, Now for Hindus, it is going to distribute in the name of Bathukamma Sarees. It was decided to give handloom sarees. The total number of the white card holding women in the state are identified as 86 lakh.
There are 11 million young girls in their families who are over 18 years old. It is estimated that there will be a total of 97 lakhs. For each saree, there are going to produce Rs. 230.
Already, 30 lakhs of sarees have been handed over to the handloom in Siricilla. Furthermore, more than 60 lakh sarees were required to give orders for all the Power loom workers across the state.
CS was ordered to make the sarees ready because they were going to celebrate Bathukamma in the third week of September. After sarees are ready, they are supplied to normal shops which are having fewer prices. The beneficiaries should bring their cards and take sarees.
Rs. 220 crores are needed for distribution of sarees. CS said that there was no problem in distribution because CM has approved for fund release. 26 designs of sarees are going to distribute, this decision was taken in a meeting, Cs added.
