Farmer attempts suicide at Telangana Secretariat

Hyderabad, June 10: A man has been attempted to suicide here at Telangana Secretariat here on Friday.

Coming to the details of the incident, According to the police officials said that "A 37-year-old man, allegedly attempted suicide by consuming "poison" on the premises of the Telangana secretariat.

Devaiah belonging who is a resident of Nirmal District had come to the secretariat along with his wife and two daughters, a senior police officer said.

He suddenly consumed a liquid from a bottle and fell unconscious on the ground even as policemen deployed as part of security immediately got him shifted to a nearby private hospital, the officer added.

According to sources, as per a note which was found with him, Devaiah was facing some problem over the allocation of land from the government to him in his village.

In the note, Devaiah purportedly wrote that he was facing land allocation problem for the past three years and hence he was resorting to taking the extreme step. However, police said no case was registered in connection with the incident.
