AP govt spent all Central funds

Vijayawada, October 19: The Andhra Pradesh government has spent Rs 850 crores of central funds and the officials are preparing utilization certificates (UC) to send to the Central government within two weeks. The Centre had released Rs 850 crores in the first phase towards the construction of government buildings in the capital city.

But till date not even the basement works are completed and place for High Court, Raj Bhavan and other buildings was not confirmed. Hence the Central funds remained intact. The State government had reportedly diverted these funds for other purposes like celebrating Krishna Pushkaralu, temporary secretariat, loan waiver etc.

Since the Centre clarified that no new funds would be released unless the UCs are submitted.
The AP government has prepared utilization certificates with the expenditure details of Rs 850 crores of central funds released for the construction of Rajbhavan, High Court etc.

The Central government has implemented Public Financial Management System (PFMS) to confirm whether the funds were being spent for the same purpose for which they were released.
