SCR gained Rs.11.78 Crores in terms of Fines

Hyderabad, June 6: The South Central Railway (SCR) has gained a total of Rs 11.78 crore in the form of fines during the special drives conducted in May.

A total of 3.37 lakh offenders were nabbed for various offenses, including ticketless traveling, traveling with the wrong ticket and traveling with unbooked luggage.

During the month, 45 special drives were launched with the aim of curbing ticketless travel as well unauthorized hawking and vendors in the trains, said a release issued by SCR. As many as 1,458 people were prosecuted during the month.

"The special magisterial drives will be continued in the coming months with a view to prosecuting ticketless travelers, unauthorized hawkers, men traveling in ladies coaches and people occupying the physically-handicapped cabins, apart from regular defaulters," the SCR release added.
