South Central Railway to guaranty safety of Passengers?

Hyderabad, June 5: The South Central Railway (SCR) officials have called a review meeting to discuss various methods of safety measures for the railway passengers here on Monday.

A high-level committee to improve safety, security and convenience of railway passengers, has decided to install close to 130 CCTV cameras in the Secunderabad Railway Station, 59 cameras in Nampally Railway Station and 29 in the Kachiguda Railway Station.

Apart from the additional CCTV cameras, the committee also decided to install baggage scanners for passengers at the entrance points of these railway stations.

Railway officials have also decided to design a Master Plan for parking management and road infrastructure inside the railway station premises.

SCR officials said that land discipline inside the railway stations will be strictly enforced and vehicles parked for a long time inside the railway stations will be removed.

The meeting was attended by MG Shekharam, Chief Commercial Manager, V Ravinder, Joint CP Traffic, LS Chouhan, DCP Traffic, Sanjay IG RPF and officers from Railways, Traffic Police, GRP, RPF, GHMC, HMDA, HMRL, and RTC.
