Telangana State income rises by 21%

Hyderabad, October 18 : Telangana State has earned record level of income of about Rs 22,500 crores within six months period. The growth rate was 21 per cent. Most of the income came from sales tax, which was Rs 16,400 crores, with a growth rate of 14 percent. Excise department with a growth rate of 55 per cent had earned Rs 2,500 crores.

Rs. 1,300 crores from Motor vehicles tax with 20 per cent growth rate; Coming to expenditure, the government spent huge amount on major projects.Rs 8,500 crores for irrigation Rs 3,400 crores for Mission Bhagiratha and panchayat raj roads construction apart from Rs 1,300 crore for R & B; totalling Rs. 15,000 crore including other departments.

The government is extending financial help for Kalyana Lakshmi, Asara, power, subsidy rice and other schemes. Besides central funds, the State had allotted Rs 15,000 crores in the last six months for these welfare schemes.

Compared to last year, the growth rate was 21 per cent and the officials are expecting the rate will reach 30 per cent by the end of this financial year.
