TDP leaders staged Dharna against Congress meeting

Hyderabad, June 4: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists have staged a dharna at Hindu college here opposing the Congress party's public meeting, to be held on Sunday, in which AICC Vice-president Rahul Gandhi is taking part.

The TDP activists holding placards and black flags shouted Rahul Gandhi go back, staged a dharna and raised slogans against the Congress party's public meeting demanding Special Category Status (SCS) to AP.

While speaking to media, Talking to media Mirch Yard Chairman Mannava Subba Rao said that the Congress party had no moral right to demand SCS as it had bifurcated the combined AP state in an unjustified manner.

Meanwhile, APCC Spokesperson Kolanukonda Shivaji said that Mr. Gandhi would reach the venue from Vijayawada in a huge rally.
