AP CM stated Telangana formation day as...

Vijayawada, June 3: The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu has inaugurated Navanirmana Deeksha at Benz Circle in Vijayawada here on Friday.

He stated that,"June 2 was a dark day for AP, which had faced injustice and humiliation in the name of bifurcation.Italy is celebrating its Republic Day today but for AP, it is a dark day,"

While addressing the gathering at Nava Nirmana Deeksha program at Benz Circle, the Chief Minister said it was being conducted on June 2 only to protest the injustice and humiliation meted out to Telugu people and the program would be held every year on this day.

People were put to loss due to the manner in which the State was divided, without any justice, without consulting anyone and ignoring the rising movement against bifurcation. "I had extended complete cooperation to the people's struggle for the united state," he said.

He also stressed that, "I had totally opposed the bifurcation bill brought which was aimed at intimidating the people. The Telangana Bill was passed in 20 minutes, even as our MPs were threatened. The passage of the Bill was itself done behind locked doors after stopping live telecast of the Parliament proceedings (on February 18, 2014)," he added.

Failure to consult the people and people's representatives in both the regions and taking arbitrary decisions during bifurcation had hurt the people, he said.

However, the decision to share the liability on basis of population and revenue locally had resulted in a tremendous loss to the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh, he stated.
