Sangareddy SI held for demands extra Dowry

Hyderabad, May 31: The Malkajgiri police have arrested a man, who was working as sub-inspector in Sangareddy police station for harassing his wife for additional dowry and domestic violence here on Monday.

While coming to details, The couple is residents of Malkajgiri, the complaint was lodged by the wife of Laxma Reddy.

According to Malkajgiri police inspector Janaki Reddy, the victim, Jyothi had approached the police on November 29, last year.

In her complaint, she said that her husband Laxma Reddy was allegedly beating her and tormenting her for additional dowry. On the request of her parents, the police sent the couple to Kushaiguda police station for counseling.



"But even during the counseling, he was not willing to listen to the counselors and demanded more dowry. We arrested Laxma Reddy on Monday and produced him in the court, which remanded him to judicial custody," the inspector said.

He reportedly installed CCTV cameras in the bedroom to capture her intimate moments and threatened to upload them on the Internet if his dowry demand was not met.
