Akshay Kumar and Saina Nehwal got a threat letter

Chattisgarh, May 30: The Chattisgarh Maoists have threat letter to the biggest celebrities badminton star Saina Nehwal and Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar, who have financially supported the families of CRPF jawans who were killed in an attack by Naxals in Chhattisgarh in March this year.

A senior Intelligence Bureau officer said, "Maoists issued the threat letter a few days ago. TS police shall provide security to her."

Ms Nehwal and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had extended help to the families of 12 CRPF jawans killed by Maoists in Sukma in Chhattisgarh in March this year.



Former director-general of the CRPF, K Durga Prasad, said, "Celebrities are generous in coming forward to support the jawans who died in the attack. They have understood that CRPF men are sacrificing their lives for the country and the tribals. The support by celebrities like Saina and Akshay motivated others to help the cause. The Maoists have seen that people are galvanizing for the cause. Maoists resorted to a foolish step by issuing a ridiculous warning to celebrities", he added.

The Maoists demanded that "Celebrities, artists, and players must stand up for the poor in the revolutionary movement. The central government is committed to human rights abuses in Operation Greenhart. It should be denied".
