Harish Rao fired on BJP Chief Amitshah

Hyderabad, May 26: The Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has questioned on Thursday, that there is no response from the BJP Chief Amit Shah to CM KCR statements over 1 lakh crore funds from the centre.

He said that The BJP should prove its love for Telangana by hastening the process of division of the State High Court and the establishment of the Tribal University instead of resorting to rhetoric.

Addressing a news conference along with G Jagadish Reddy , Minister for Power, Balka Suman, MP and a host of other leaders, he pointed out that the BJP Chief Amit Shah had left the State without responding to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao which only confirms that his claims over the flow of Central funds to the State were totally wrong and would not stand scrutiny.

"It is good that at least the local BJP leaders responded to the facts and figure given by the Chief Minister on the release of funds to the State by the Centre under various heads. But they should realize the fact that they cannot talk irresponsibly on the development of Telangana whose Statehood was hard won after a long struggle," he said.

Stating that the local leaders should have tendered their apologies for the false claims made by the BJP national president, the Minister said that in a way, the BJP leaders had admitted that their claim of the Centre releasing Rs 1 lakh crore for the State so far had no sound basis.

"Telangana State has been contributing over Rs 50,000 crores by way of taxes and getting only Rs 24,000 crore per annum under different heads," he reiterated and urged the BJP leaders to strive to get national project status to at least one irrigation project if they were serious and sincere about the State's development.
