Govt plans to give pension to 1 lakh single Women

Hyderabad, May 26: As we know that, The Telangana Government has introduced Single Women pension scheme to the single women, who have an annual income below Rs.2 lakhs.

In a response from the people to the Single Women, pension scheme has shocked the TRS government. At a time when it anticipated more than four lakh applications and arranged funds of over 4,000 crores to disburse a monthly financial assistance of 1000 per woman, the response has puzzled officials.

The last date to submit applications ended on May 21 and the rural development ministry decided not to give any more extension. To overcome the indifferent response, the department had given extension thrice, first on May 8, then May 13 and then finally till May 21.



On the whole, the government has received only 1,46,280 applications of which 1,14,010 are from rural areas and 32,270 from urban areas including Hyderabad city.

In Hyderabad city, 21,640 people submitted their applications online.There are 71,815 applications only verified and rejected 68,076 application her on Thursday.

The Govt has plans to give the scheme for at least one lakh women up to the Telangana State formation day. The officials have decided to one more extension of the Single Women pension scheme.
