Youth attempted suicide in front of Minister Thalasani

Wanaparthy, May 25: Here a Polytechnic Student Association secretary was attempted to suicide in front of Cabinet Minister Thalasani Srinivas Yadav at Wanaparthy here on Wednesday.

The awareness programs being held by animal husbandry department to create awareness among shepherd community of the state on the proposed sheep distribution scheme are turning out to be controversial.

The ruling TRS leaders from the district attacked several unemployed youths who demanded the state government to fill up all the existing posts of veterinarians in the department at the awareness program held in Srikrishna function hall on Wednesday.

The incident of attack took place in the presence of state cabinet minister for animal husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

The minister was addressing the meeting when a group of veterinary diploma graduates came to the meeting hall and demanded the minister to fill up the posts.

Meanwhile, the unemployed youth also raised slogans against the state government when the attack took place. Amidst the din, an unemployed youth made an attempt to kill himself by pouring kerosene on his body.

This enraged the TRS leaders present at the meeting and promoted them to attack the unemployed youth. The youth were later handed over to local police after the attack.

They also reminded the minister to keep the promise made by the party during the Assembly elections. They alleged that the TRS government has become a government of promises and not acts.
