PM Modi Africa a top trade partner

Gandhinagar, MAY 24: India has pitched for strong ties with Africa.Prime Minister on Tuesday said that his government has made Africa the first priority for foreign and economic policy.

He has recalled India’s long-standing relationship with the continent.he also said that trade between Africa and India has doubled in the last five years to reach nearly $72 billion in 2014-15. He said that the trade in 2015-16 was higher than the India -Us trade.

PM said the above words at the opening ceremony of annual meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group.

The event was held in Gandhinagar. It was attended by AfDB president Akinwumi Adesina, Arun Jaitley union Finance minister, and Gujarat Cheif Minister. Delegates from more than 50 African countries are expected to attend the event.



PM Modi said that we will work with US and japan to help Africa and we will make sure that Africa will also become a developed continent.
He has reminded the role Africa has played in supporting our country.

He finally ended his speech by saying that India has made a huge investment in Africa and we will increase the support we give to the continent.
