Vishakapatnam bags 2nd place again

Vishakapatnam, May 20: As we know that, Vishakapatnam has bagged the second place as the cleanest railway station in the country.

Now, Again Visakhapatnam Port Trust has emerged as the second cleanest port among all the major ports in India, next to Haldia Dock, during the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan' 2017.

VPT chairman M T Krishna Babu received the prestigious award from Union Minister for Road Transport, Highways, and Shipping Nitin Gadkari on the implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2017 in Goa on Friday.



In response to the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in all parts of the country, Swachta Pakwada Programme was conducted from March 16 to 31 in VPT, relentlessly striving for ensuring cleanliness in VPT.

During Swachta Pakwada, the Union Minster of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Chemicals & Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya also visited VPT on March 18 and personally participated in Beach Cleanliness Programme and after seeing physically appreciated the efforts taken by VPT in up-keeping cleanliness not only in the various areas of VPT but also its surroundings.
