Kadiyam about KGBV Contract Resource Teachers

Hyderabad, May 18: The Telangana Educational Minister Kadiyam Srihari requested the Centre on Wednesday to enhance allowances for special officers and Contract Resource Teachers (CRTs) in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) by at least 50 percent.

Srihari in a representation to Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar on Wednesday said that Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan framework provides Rs 25,000 per month for special officer and Rs 20,000 per month for CRTs as an honorarium. Each KGBV has one special officer and seven CRTs.

The Minister mentioned that honorarium amount was inadequate keeping their qualifications and nature and hours of work as KGBVs were residential.



There were 391 KGBVs with an enrollment of 70,000 in the State, he said adding that as per the Ministry of Human Resource Development guidelines Classes VI to VIII was permitted in the KGBVs but the Telangana government had extended the scheme to Classes IX and X also.

Srihari said 62 KGBVs had achieved 100 results in the SSC Public Examination of 2017.

Meanwhile, Srihari who also met Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh and asked him to expedite the process of unified service rules for integrating teachers of Panchayat schools and Zilla Parishad schools with existing local cadres of teachers.
