Ex-MP Prabhunath Singh sent to jail

Ranchi May 18: Prabhunath Singh, who is the Former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP has been convicted and sent to jail along with two others by a local court in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh here on Thursday.

He is in connection with a 22-year-old murder case

While coming to matter, The court said it will announce the punishment on May 23.

The BJP Senior leader Sushil Modi said that "Singh was very close to both Nitish and Lalu but he was convicted in connection with the murder of MLA Ashok Singh. The RJD-JD-U combine has suffered a jolt by the conviction."

As we knew that, Prabhunath was said to be a close confidant of Nitish Kumar and had won the Maharajganj parliamentary seat on a JD-U ticket in 2004 before joining hands with RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

Prabhunath and along with his brother Dinanath and former mukhiya Ritesh Singh were convicted in the murder case of former MLA Ashok Singh, who was killed in July 1995.
