Police arrested a man for assaulting a minor girl

Hyderabad, May 17: A 24-year-old man has arrested by the Sanathnagar police on Tuesday, for allegedly attempting to rape a minor girl.

While coming to the matter, The accused Sai Kumar(24), was a resident of Fathenagar, who was tried to rape a minor girl.

According to the police, Sai Kumar had befriended the 13-year-old victim a few months ago. Around 2.30 am on Tuesday, he called her on her mobile phone and forced her to come to an isolated spot near her house. After she reached the spot, he tried to rape her. However, she escaped from him and ran to her mother, who was already searching for her.

"In the attempt to escape, she fell and suffered minor injuries. She was taken to the hospital and her condition is stable," said E Venkat Reddy, Inspector, Sanathnagar.

Based on the complaint given by the victim's parents, police registered a case under sections of rape and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested the suspect.Further investigation is going on.
