South Central Railways Manager urged about Punctuality of Trains

Hyderabad, May 16: The General Manager of South Central Railways Vinod Kumar Yadav has urged the senior officials here on Monday, to ensure punctuality in the movement of trains across the southern zone.

The officials concerned were asked to intensify field-level checks with a focus on the signals, loco diesel and mechanical failures, which were found to be the causes of concern, so as to improve train safety and punctuality. Corrective measures should be initiated with immediate effect to minimize failures, he said.

The SCR General Manager conducted safety review meeting with principal heads of departments on Monday. The divisional railway managers of all the six divisions – Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Nanded – participated in the review through video conference.

He wanted the officials concerned to take pre-monsoon precautions well in advance to monitor the track and signals to ensure safety. Priority should be accorded to pay and use toilets at stations while steps should be taken to intensify ticket checking during summer.

The officials concerned were advised to prepare action plans for increasing freight loading in the zone.
