Telangana TRANSCO lady employee attempted suicide

Hyderabad, May 14: As we know that, recently female RBI has committed suicide due harassment by her husband.
Similarly, another Govt employee was attempted suicide due to harassment by her superior on Friday night.

While coming to details, A 33-year-old woman employee, a resident of Boduppal, was working as a typist with Vidyut Soudha in Khairatabad for over six years under TS TRANSCO, who allegedly attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills while traveling on an RTC bus in the city late on Friday night.

The woman has reportedly told the police that sexual harassment by her superior had provoked her to resort to the extreme step.

According to the police, Recently, she was posted in the Lift Irrigation department under Superintendent VDB Srinivas, against whom she has now lodged a complaint, accusing him of sexual harassment.

"I had hoped that his behavior would change and so I didn’t tell anybody, including my family members. Recently, he threatened me saying he will issue transfer orders if I do not oblige to him," she said in the complaint, adding that it was the depression due to the harassment that made her attempt suicide by consuming sleeping pills while travelling on an RTC bus when she was on her way to home on Friday.

"After reaching Himayath Nagar, she started feeling nausea and informed her brother, who reached the spot and took her to a private hospital with the help of other passengers," police said, adding that Narayanaguda police had received her complaint and registered a case.

"Her statement was recorded. Based on evidence, further investigation will be carried out", B Nagarjuna Reddy, SI, Narayanaguda said, adding that the woman was now out of danger.
