Colour blankets in Govt hospitals

HYDERABAD, May 13: The government has brought a new approach to control of infections in government Hospitals. It has taken steps to change the colours blankets on the beds.

Initially, four colour blankets were issued to all hospitals in the city. It is well known that white colour is used in hospitals from so far. Due to the shortage of Blankets, they are not changing the blankets at least after 3 days, sometimes they are not changing the blankets up to the patient discharge.

No one has questioned the hospital staff about the blankets whether they changed or not. In this situation by providing colour blankets, they can be easily identified by the change of blankets and can take actions on them.

Presently, these hospitals have only pink, white, light blue and dark blue blankets. Each day, two colourful blankets will be used on the beds.

In Gandhi Hospital, they used the pink and dark light on Monday. Tuesday it is white and light blue. Depending on the accessibility of hospitals, there is a prevalence of appropriate colours. After issuing the rest of coloured blankets, the Government will make a plan and gives to the hospital, according to that, the hospitals will use the blankets.

Beds, mattresses, and pillows are playing a major role in the spread of infections in hospitals. Because they are not cleaned, the disease spreads from each other to another.

Most of the infections have been reported after surgery. Hygiene or patients are experiencing difficulties during such times.

Osmania, Gandhi, Nilofar,... This is the same situation in all hospitals. Doctors saying that these can be prevented by using some of the fresh blankets.
