Basthi Davakhana in Hyderabad

NEW DELHI, MAY 12: All India Mayors Conference was held at Delhi, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan headed all the State Mayor's, here on Thursday.

They were Impressed with the concept of 'Mohalla Clinics' being run by the Delhi government. Now, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is also planning to introduce 'Basti Davakhanas' in Hyderabad.

GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, along with Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Ravinder Singh from Karimnagar, Laxmi Narayana from Ramagundam, Dr G.Papalal from Khammam, A.Laitha from Nizamabad, and officials have visited and inspected some of the 'Mohalla Clinics' at Janakpuri area in New Delhi.

They also interacted with the local residents and asked about the functioning of Mohalla Clinics. The residents have explained about the medical facilities which they are getting through Mohalla Clinics.

Later, The GHMC Mayor addressed the media and informed that the Basthi Davakhanas would be established on the Public Private Partnership mode. He said he would soon convey a meeting with the Telangana Cheif Minister KCR and with Municipal Minister K.Taraka RamaRao to finalize the plan.

The team also visited the power plant, being run by Ramky Group, where power is generated from garbage named as 'Waste to Energy.'
