Amazon company cheated by a woman

Bangalore MAY 11: A woman was arrested for allegedly duping Amazon company. The Police has booked a case against the women for exploiting the company's return cashback offer.

The details are as follows:

Deepanwita Ghosh made several online purchases last year and claimed refunds after returning "similar" products.

Ghosh used fake names to make 104 purchases these even included electronic items. Within 24 hours she would place a request demanding a refund.

She used different address for the product delivery and return. After getting a refund to her bank account from company she would replace the product with a substandard one and hand over the package to the delivery person.



Finally, the women had been sent to judicial custody after a complaint was lodged by the company representative.

The police officials said that total amount of fraud she did was around 70 lakh. After the arrest of the woman, the company has changed its refund and return policy so that such cases don't occur in the future.
