Indian railways in order to reduce the losses may cut the subsidy given to senior citizens who are traveling in first and second class AC.

officials say that "to implement this policy first Railway minister may start a campaign to make sure that senior citizens who are rich should voluntarily give up their subsidy".

Next steps would be taken based on the response of senior citizens.
If the response is poor then Indian Railways will make sure that all senior citizens traveling in First class and second class Ac don't get the ticket at discounted rate.

Officials say that most people who travel in high AC classes are rich and they want to target the subsidy to only those people who travel in 3 Ac and sleeper classes because these are poor and middle-class people.
