Police arrested four persons for cheating

Hyderabad May 07: The Cybercrime Police officials has been arrested the Four persons here on Saturday, who allegedly duped an Old City man of Rs 17 lakh on the pretext of delivering a Honda Amaze car which they said he had won in a lottery.

According to police officials, the suspects are Identified as Himanshu Sharma, Sumit Kumar, Jackson Paul and Mazhar Alam They all are from New Delhi had contacted the victim Aleemuddin of Falaknuma over phone stating that he had won the car and other gifts in a lottery.

Meanwhile, They had also created a fake website shopon4u.com, and contacted people selectively from a call center set up by them in New Delhi. Several tele-callers were working at the call centre on a daily basis and luring victims to part with their money, police said.

The victims were asked to deposit money in bank accounts of State Bank of India, ICICI and HDFC, opened in the name of Cruise been Enterprises Private Limited.

Aleemuddin, who got a call from one Vijay Chauhan, paid Rs 17 lakh over a period of time. "The payment was made through online transfer, Western Union Money Exchange and even Paytm," said Inspector Cyber Crime, K V M Prasad.
