KCR to Organise World Telugu Conference

Hyderabad May 06: On behalf of Telangana Formation Day, Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is decided to organize World Telugu Conference (WTC) in Hyderabad from June 2 to 10, said at Pragathi Bhavan here on Friday.

Coming to matter, KCR instructed the Officials to look after the arrangements that have to be done on WTC which was going to held in Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICU), at Hyderabad.

Government Advisor K V Ramanachary, Ayachitam Sridhar State Grandhalaya Parishad Chairman, Cultural Affairs Director Mamidi Harikrishna, noted literary personalities Nandini Siddha Reddy, Official Language Commission Chairman Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, Vajuula Sivakumar, CPRO to Chief Minister Jwala Narasimha Rao, CM OSD Desapathy Srinivas and others participated in the meeting at Pragathi Bhavan.

He ordered the higher authorities to highlight the works and role played by Telangana government in the development and growth of Telugu language and literature should be shown clearly.

Invite and felicitate all the Scholars, prominent personalities, litterateurs, who have contributed to the spread of Telugu language and literature from Andhra Pradesh, other states, also from abroad, CM said.

In The Conference, he said the talents exhibited by Telangana literary personalities in Journalism, Film Industry, Short story and Novels, Poetry, Yakshagana, Harikatha, Burrakatha.

Mr. Rao wanted the inaugural function of the Conference to be held on June 2, as it happens to be the State’s Formation day. He would provide an opportunity to showcase the importance of Telugu literature to the world. Kavi Sammelanas, Literary conferences; Avadhanams should be part of the World Telugu Conference Reviewing the arrangements for the conference he said.

Meetings and Conferences should be held at Day Time and Perini Dance Performance and Different ArtForms are to be done at Night time.

Telugu Pandits who are attending the Conference are to taken as on duty and their Charges for Travelling are to be paid by Government only, He added.
