German airport offers prayer booth in 65 languages

New Delhi May 06: Feeling nervous before your flight? Now, you can receive spiritual solace by listening to a prayer of their choice before boarding the plane in Stuttgart Airport at German.

Airport spokesman Johannes Schumm said they have arranged a prayer Booth in the Airport with 300 prayers from various religions in 65 different languages.

Passengers often have a bit of time before their departure at the gate, so they can enter into Prayer Booth as per their interest, Schumm added.

It was Designed by Berlin artist Oliver Sturm, the former photo booth offers a vast variety of prayers, including The Hindu Hare Krishna chant, Buddhist sutras, prayers of Shamans from Mali, and the Christian Lord's Prayer.

Everyone will be available on the touch-screen display and they can click as per their interest.

In Recent years he has designed several prayer booths that have been installed at schools, universities, and museums.

Since 2008, "Gebetomat," a portmanteau of the German words for prayer and machine, had been in operation. 'This is the first time it is being installed at an airport. This machine is not intended to promote any particular religion,' he added.
