Venkaiah Naidu in Presidential race?

New Delhi May 06: The presidential election has yet to be started in our country. The NDA and the UPA are focusing on their choice of candidates. Many of the names have already been heard as presidential candidates.

The new name of Union Minister Venkani Naidu also came up. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is said to be making hectic moves to get party nomination in the forthcoming Presidential elections, to be held in July this year.

As he is already serving his fourth consecutive term as Rajya Sabha member, which till now no other BJP leader had got an opportunity to be nominated for, Naidu has realized that perhaps this will be his last opportunity to be in office.

The party's high command is likely to benefit from the BJP's desire to go to the south.Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, and another Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot are also in the race.
