Indian Railways launches ATS

NewDelhi MAY 5: A good news for passengers of Indian Railways.

Indian Railways launched "Vikalp"/"Alternate Train Scheme ATS" for waitlisted passengers.

The details of the scheme are

*All waitlisted passengers will be given berths in other trains of same destination subject to availability in alternate trains.

* No Extra fare will be collected from passengers if seats are confirmed in the alternate train.

*This service will be applicable to all trains /all reservation categories.



* Many passengers will have the chance to travel in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Special Suvidha trains.

Indian Railways has launched this scheme from May 1, 2017.

The main advantage of the scheme are
*Passengers to get confirmed berths in alternative
trains.

*Railways will use optimally the vacant berths in
Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains.

Finally, Railways is taking steps to implement the policy of no waitlisting in trains from 2020 as announced by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.
