A minor boy allegedly killed by neighbour

Hyderabad, May 04: A minor boy, Mohammed Uroojuddin Ahmed(12) was allegedly murdered in Chandrayangutta, who was throttled to death and his body dumped in an open tank by his neighbor.

The body was retrieved from the tank on Thursday morning after the local police caught the suspect, identified as Muneer.

The reasons for the murder are yet to emerge.

As per the version given by the police, Urooj, who studies at a local madrasa, was picked up by his neighbour Muneer, aged around 25 years, from his Arabic school on Friday and taken to an open land at Mailardevpally.

Later, after playing with the boy for some time, Muneer throttled him and after the child died, the suspect disposed of the body in a water tank.

The family members of the boy had pointed out their suspicion on Muneer following which the Chandrayangutta police had questioned him on Saturday and let him off.

Since then, Muneer went to Mumbai leaving behind a letter in which he stated that he was leaving the house as the police had taken him along in a police patrol vehicle and he felt humiliated.

However, the local police called up his family members and asked them to bring Muneer to the police station on Wednesday. On questioning, the man admitted to killing the child and throwing his body in a tank.

The police are trying to ascertain the reason why Muneer killed Urooj.
