ICICI bank to set up 500 digital Villages

Delhi May 3: Have you heard about Digital villages?

The villages in which more than 90 % of transactions takes place in Non-cash payments are known as Digital Villages.

Speaking at a conference the ICICI bank Managing Director and CEO Chanda Kochhar said that "The ICICI bank under the project "100 days 100 Digital Villages" has set up 100 digital Villages and we will make sure that by Dec 2017 the number increases to 500".

She also said under Digital Villages 11300 were given training on digital payment. The bank also disbursed 14 crore money to the villagers as loans.



Under 500 Digital villages, the total number of people to be given training will increase to 50000.

Finally, she said that India is rapidly moving towards cashless Society.
