Auto driver held for robbery

Hyderabad, April 28: The Gopalapuram police have arrested an auto driver, who was allegedly accused in the robbery case held at the Secunderabad railway Station.

While coming to details, The accused Mohammed Mateen (25), a native of Khila Bazaar in Khammam district is involved in several property offense cases reported in Khammam district and was earlier convicted in some cases.

A few weeks ago, Mateen came to Secunderabad Railway Station and stood near the ticket counter. Here, he approached a woman passenger Kona Nagamani and offered to carry her luggage into the railway station platform.

"Mateen took the bag containing four tolas of gold ornaments and other articles and escaped from the station premises by diverting the attention," said ACP Gopalapuram, K Srinivas Rao.

The police who were on look out for Mateen since the offense was reported, caught him on Wednesday when he came to the Secunderabad railway station to pick up a passenger.

On interrogation, he admitted the crime. The Police produced him before the court which remanded him.
