Police have seized Rs.60 lakh Demonitized Currency

Hyderabad, April 26: The Sultan Bazaar police have seized the demonetised currency with the face value of Rs 61.60 lakh from a godown on Tuesday.

While coming to details, Ahmed, who was taken a godown on rent to run a sports material shop a few months ago to store material.

On a tip-off, a police team from Sultan Bazaar raided the shop and seized the old currency notes.

"Ahmed had kept the old currency at the godown. Apparently, he was trying to exchange it for the new currency. On information we raided the place and seized the currency," said Sultan Bazaar sub-inspector, K Chandra Mohan. The police are investigating.
