Nirbhaya case: Convicts went to High court

New Delhi April 24: Three of the four convicts, who received the hanging sentence in the Vasant Kunj gang rape case(NIRBHAYA CASE), have challenged the sentence found in looting cases in the High Court.

Akshay Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta, and Vinay Sharma have pleaded guilty against the 10 years imprisonment sentenced by the trial court.

Justice G. Garg, while accepting the petition, has decided to start hearing on this very soon. The petition states that the order of the trial court is against the principle of law and natural justice.

Trial court, while giving a verdict, did not hear his arguments properly and on the basis of a conviction in Vasant Vihar gang rape, he also pronounced sentence in looting case in a partisan manner.

Explain that on December 16, 2012, gang-rape was done with the 23-year-old girl on the bus moving on the night of the carnage.

Ram Singh had committed suicide in jail, while another accused was a minor. He has come out of jail after cutting his sentence.
