Intermediate student committed suicide

Hyderabad April 22: After the announcement of Inter results, a 17-year-old Intermediate student who failed to clear the examination, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to a ceiling at his home in Alwal here on Friday.

According to police, S Narasimha Rao, a resident of Alwal, was an MEC second year student at a local private junior college and failed in all the five subjects. Since then, he was reportedly in depression and was not interacting with anybody, including his parents, according to police.

The student's father, Subba Rao, told the police that he tried to convince his son that he can perform better in the coming supplementary with a proper study plan but his efforts appear to have failed.

The incident happened on Friday morning after his mother left for Bhongir to visit a relative and his father accompanied her to the railway station. "When he returned, Narasimha Rao was found hanging to the ceiling in the hall," said a police officer.
