Man harassed his pregnant wife to seek dowry

Nizamabad April 20: A man harassed his pregnant wife for dowry and tried to kill her by pouring kerosene on her on Tuesday night in Nizamabad city.

The victim gave birth to a baby child on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at the government hospital.

SK Majid Khan (25), a resident of Nizam colony of Nizamabad town had married Sana Begum (23) of Nirmal town, last year. He used to harass her physically and mentally for dowry.

On Tuesday night, Majid quarreled with Sana Begum and poured kerosene on her. Sana who was seriously injured is in a critical condition. Nizamabad sixth town police registered a case and took on Majeed Khan into custody.
