A Young Doctor committed Suicide

Hyderabad, April 18: A young doctor committed suicide by injecting an overdose of an anesthetic drug inside his cabin at a private hospital in Guntur on Monday.

While coming to details, Bandi Sarath Chandra (28) was found dead in People's Trauma and Emergency Hospital in Kothapet. Police suspect that Chandra slipped into depression over a failed love affair.

Doctors who examined him noticed multiple syringe marks on hand and suspect that he must have died due to anesthetic overdose.

Chandra's mother suffered a heart attack in the hospital after she saw her dead son. Doctors immediately admitted her to the ICU and her condition is said to be stable.

After making inquiries with his colleagues, cops found out that Chandra arrived at the hospital for his night shift duty on Sunday.

Later in the night, he locked himself in his room and did not come out. "We found out that Chandra had been depressed for a while over an affair he had with a girl since his college days. Recently, she got engaged to another man and we suspect that he must have taken the extreme step due to this," police said.
