Bribery demand leads to criminal case

Hyderabad, April 15: Criminal cases will be booked against health care workers who were found demanding and accepting bribes from patients and relatives in State-run hospitals, Health Minister, Dr. C. Laxma Reddy said on Saturday.

During a surprise visit to Government Chest Hospital, Erragadda on Saturday, the Health Minister promised that soon a high-tech ICU facility and a CT scan machine will be procured for the hospital, which is a nodal Centre for TB and HIV/AIDS patients.



Accompanied by senior health officials and hospital doctors, Dr. Laxma Reddy inspected outpatient waiting area, ICU, records room, inpatient recovery wards and the Anti-retroviral Therapy (ART) wards meant for TB patients with HIV/AIDS.
