Chennai, April 15: The Tamil Nadu police have filed a FIR against three State ministers based on a complaint by income tax officials.
Income tax officials have said that the ministers R Kamaraj, Udumalai K Radhakrishnan and Kadambur Raju offended into the premises they were raiding on April 7.
Besides these three, Thalavai S Sundaram, Tamil Nadu's representative in New Delhi, and Health Minister R Vijaya Basker’s driver have also been named in the FIR, police sources said.
The income tax officials were conducting the raids in premises of Vijaya Basker and actor-turned-police Sarathkumar on April 7.
The I-T officials also raided several premises, who were belonging to the minister and his relatives.
C Vijayabaskar claimed that he was fully cooperating with the Income Tax sleuths and showed them all his documents but they were unable to find anything against him.
"I-T officials were threatening me. My children wanted to go to the school, but the I-T inspectors didn’t allow them to leave the home. This is politically motivated. The I-T department is harassing me," he said.
The police sources said the case has been filed under various provisions of IPC including section 183.
