KCR urged to boost up the pending irrigation projects

Hyderabad, March 29: The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has urged to develop the pending irrigation projects on Tuesday.

He said that the government would give the first priority to complete all the pending irrigation projects in Telangana and passed some orders to irrigation experts to complete all the irrigation projects as soon as possible especially in Mahabubnagar.

KCR reviewed the progress on the project work and interacted with Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and officials at camp office. KCR said that for the completion of these projects they would require Rs 18,000 crores that would help in irrigating 24 lakh acres of land in Telangana.



He added that he has promised to provide water for 10 lakh acres of land in every district and he would do it at any cost.

He also asked officials to complete the work of Narlapur pump house, Karivena, Vattem and Uddandapur reservoirs taken up under Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project within two years.

KCR also gave instruction to increase the capacity of Antaram reservoir to 15 TMC ft. Harish Rao has given assurance to speed up the project work and take steps to complete the work within the stipulated time.
