Eatela fires on congress party

Hyderabad March 19: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender has encountered that he will resign if the Congress could show it had benefited a single family of Scheduled Castes with some scheme worth Rs 5 lakh.

He hurled the challenge while replying to the charge of Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir that the three acres of land promised by the government for every landless SC person was a farce. They traded charges during debate on the budget.

Presenting the government’s reply to the debate, Mr. Rajender also denied Opposition charge that the figures in the budget were inflated. He said by booking an expenditure of 86 per cent out of the budget proposals for 2016-17, Telangana was at the top in spending. The expenditure by Chhattisgarh was 86 per cent, Haryana 79.34 per cent and Kerala 82.60 per cent.

He expressed the optimism of government that it would complete double bedroom houses for the poor next year. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would keep his word that the TRS would not seek votes if they were not completed. There was no such thing as impossible in Mr. Rao’s dictionary and he would honour every word on two bedroom housing, Mr. Rajender said.

Stating that the government did not claim its pension or fine rice schemes as big achievements, Mr. Rajender said the government scored on restoring the confidence of people in it. He also said he would accept defeat if the Opposition could show any other State that had more residential schools than Telangana.
