Jayashankar-Bhupalpally: Now a days, Most of people would like to admit in private corporate hospital only.Here is an inspirable District collector, who had admitted his daughter's delivery in a government hospital.

Even as the poor prefer private hospitals for delivery, Collector Akunuri Murali on Friday admitted his pregnant daughter Pragathi to the Mulugu Government Hospital for delivery in an attempt to ascertain if quality medical services are available at government hospitals.

District Medical and Heath Officer (DMHO) Dr Attaiah said that Pragathi delivered a baby girl through C-section and both the mother and child are healthy.



Expressing happiness over the birth of his grand daughter, the Collector said that he wanted to present an example to the people of the district to promote institutional deliveries.

"The government hospitals in our district are fully equipped and quality treatment is available as experienced doctors are working in these hospitals," he said, and urged the people to utilize services at the government hospitals.

Pragathi, who lives with her husband Pradeep in Hyderabad, recently arrived at her parent's home in Bhupalpally for delivery.
