Power shocks hits 814 people deaths

Hyderabad March 8: Day by day deaths of power shocks has been increasing rapidly said TS Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC).Energy group member Prayas and other members told the ERC that accidents were increasing every year by 10 per cent. Mostly farmers and the general public were dying of power shocks. They wanted the ERC to take measures to reduce the accidents.In the last one year 2015-2016 as many as 568 accidents took place in the state and 292 accidents in the current 2016-2017, said offcials.There will be no power tariff hike till the Budget session of the state Assembly concludes. Telangana Discoms sought time till April 15 to file tariff proposals before the TS Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC). The Discoms sent a letter to ERC on Tuesday seeking time till April 15.This is because the state government was unwilling to hike power tariff during the Budget session of the Assembly.
