Suddenly Fire blazed in a Mahindra Scorpio

Hyderabad, March 06: All of sudden, fire had been raised in traveling Mahindra Scorpio car, in which about six people were on the Tarnaka flyover on Sunday. The vehicle, belonging to one B.Geetham Reddy, was being driven by his friend Ramireddy Nithinraj Reddy, who had come to Hyderabad from Ongole, to attend a function in the city.The incident took place at about 1.40 p.m., when Ramireddy and his friends were returning to their hotel at Lakdikapul. "He noticed smoke emanating from the engine and stopped the car. They tried to put off the flames, but failed to do so and then contacted the police," said an official from the Osmania University police station. The flames were extinguished after fire-fighters reached the scene.According to the official, the cause of the fire could not be ascertained. "We have to check if there was a problem with the engine," he added. Ramireddy had come to Hyderabad on March 4 from Ongole and was staying at the Rainbow Hotel at Lakdikapul. "He, along with his friends, attended a function at Suprabhat Hotel," added the official.A case has been registered and investigation is in process, mentioned the official.
