Commercial shops sealed

Secunderabad, February 1: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board had sealed the 30 commercial shops in Tadbund. As many as 30 commercial establishments located in a complex were sealed by tax sleuths from the (SCB) on Tuesday for defaulting Rs. 8.82 lakh property tax for the past four years.According to tax department officials, the establishments they sealed include Hotel Golden Point and DTDC courier service.The SCB said tax defaulters had a chance to pay areas with demonetised notes of Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 soon after Centre announced they would accept them for paying off arrears, but companies did not utilize it, SCB chief executive officer Chandra Sekhar said.
