TRS failed to keep its election promises: Chidambharam

Hyderabad January 30: Former Union minister P. Chidambaram made some pungent comments on TRS Party supremo K Chandra Shekhar Rao Here on Sunday.P. Chidambaram has called the TRS government a failure as it moved away from core principles of democracy and failed to keep its election promises.Addressing a meeting of Congress activists here on Sunday, Mr. Chidambaram warned the government that it was duty-bound to uphold fundamental principles of democracy even now irrespective of whether it delivered or not. People were well aware how much the government had delivered in the last two and a half years.Three acres of land for poor SC families, double bedroom houses and 12 per cent reservation for STs and minorities were the election plank of the TRS. But, none of them had been delivered. But, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao did what he did not promise: construct a house for himself at a cost of 50 crore. He had fulfilled his dream but not the promises made to people, he added.
